Art Bio (informal, of course)
I don't consider myself an artist and I probably never will. Surprisingly, a lot of artists say the same thing. It's one of those things I just do. Something I can't live without. With no expectation of making money, becoming famous or getting press. However, I still do it so like everything, why not put it online?
Inspiration: Most of my recent work is inspired by my location. Be it NYC, Cambodia, the Bahamas or Japan, they all show up in my paintings. I like to think of it as my own personal way to make sense of the world around me. But you can look at it however you want to, I'm big on imagination.
Education: As for my background I studied Commercial Art at Euclid Academy of the Arts with one of the quirkiest (but AMAZING) teachers ever: Mellen. She chased delinquents down in the hallways, fed us coffee for breakfast and entered our work in competitions. Even more so, she let us take an independent approach to learning so I got to do a crapload of painting and skip out on an even bigger crapload of charcoal drawings (gosh I hate charcoal).
Style: Which leaves me at my current style- some sort of Mixed Media/painting/half-sculpture/crazyness. Meaning... I stick anything I can find on a canvas and make it match the picture in my head.
