The strangest thing happened at the ballet yesterday. At my uncle Richard's club I ran into someone I knew.
And it made me incredibly thankful for my 21 list. The idea was never to just finish 21 things and move on, it was to change my lifestyle. To make time for the things that matter. To meet new people and share the enthusiasm as best as I could.
While we were walking and chatting I realized just how much it's working. Here's how it all went down:
Between rooms Richard stopped and turned to me, "so what have you been up to."
And out of no where someone else shouted my name.
Now keep in mind we were in a members only club full of middle aged men in the required jacket and tie attire. Running into someone there was the last thing on my mind.
Man: "Hey! Nikki!"
Me: turns his direction
Man: Smiles and leans in for a cheek kiss
Me: "JOHN!"
Turns out it was John, a friend of a friend who agreed to help me accomplish some of my 21 things. Who would've guessed?
The world just got a little smaller and a little more crowded with friends.
